ERC is looking for interns to support survey design, data analysis, and interpretation for HR or MEAL-related initiatives. This internship position is remote.
Interns' study field:

- Social Sciences (HR, psychology, sociology)
Length of internship is 2-6 months. Start time flexible.
- Support quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.
- Design and visualize results from internal HR or MEAL surveys.
- Prepare summary reports and presentations.
- Master’s students
- Curious about how data drives improvement in humanitarian work.
- Proficient in spreadsheets or basic analytics software.
- Able to present findings clearly to non-technical colleagues.
- Precise, ethical, and comfortable handling sensitive information.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Good knowledge of the language in the application country.
- Very good understanding of context in the application country.
Expected learning outcomes
- Understanding of data management in humanitarian operations
Interns will learn how data supports evidence-based decision-making within HR and MEAL functions — from staff satisfaction surveys to project performance tracking — and how accuracy and confidentiality are maintained.
- Experience with survey design and quantitative/qualitative data collection
Interns will practice creating and testing survey instruments, gathering data through online tools (e.g., Google Forms, Kobo, ODK), and ensuring data quality through validation and cleaning processes.
- Practical skills in data analysis and visualization
Interns will develop hands-on competence using Excel, Google Sheets, or basic statistical tools (e.g., SPSS, R, Power BI, Tableau) to analyze datasets, create dashboards, and interpret findings for non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of MEAL and HR performance frameworks
Interns will gain an understanding of how humanitarian organizations use indicators, logframes, and performance metrics to monitor both programme outcomes and internal organizational health.
- Application of analytical insights in reporting and learning
Interns will contribute to translating data into action by preparing summary reports, infographics, and presentations that inform HR decision-making and programme learning.
