Description:
Under the supervision of the Country Representative, the Shelter Officer is responsible for the essential services in shelter cash support, able to assess, plan, design and help supervise projects and reporting of shelter cash activities, and for ensuring proper coordination with local implementing partners.
Main tasks:
- Contribute or lead shelter assessment in targeted communities.
- Provide support to the team with designing and planning essential shelter services.
- Train and support implementing partners (consortium partner CSOs) to build shelter strategies and meet the required international standards.
- Engage in the beneficiary selection process under the guidance of the overall programme.
- Design proper data collection and response analysis tools, and prepare and submit reports on aid (cash or shelter) provided.
- Closely coordinate with local implementing partners on provision of cash aid.
- Support the preparation of MoUs with local partners under the distribution of the cash aid.
- Assess the completion of works, and prepare recommendations for payments, interim and final payment certificate.
Expectations towards the candidate:
- Master’s Degree in a related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of professional work experience in cash aid, shelter, humanitarian aid or other relevant field.
- Preferably previous experience in non-profit, non-governmental organization.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English, as well as in local language (Ukrainian and Russian).
- Solid organizational skills: detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Solid computer skills, including high proficiency in Word and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
