We are issuing a call for applications to find the beneficiaries of international protection from across Estonia who are eager to actively represent their communities' interests. If you desire to participate in decision-making that affect you and uphold the principle of "nothing about me without me,” while striving for Estonia to be an inclusive place for all, we encourage you to apply.
Up to 25 representatives will be selected from the applicants who will engage in a relevant training programme. With the support by the Estonian Refugee Council, they will meet regularly to assess refugee needs, pinpoint service and policy gaps, and work together to find solutions.
Participating actively in Forum's regular meetings (either virtually or in person). NB! Being a member of the Forum is not paid position, it is voluntary activity that is based on personal motivation and enthusiasm.
- You should be a beneficiary of international protection (temporary protection, subsidiary protection or refugee status).
- Have at least basic working level of English or Estonian.
- Have a desire and willingness to speak on behalf of your community.
- Be able to actively participate in regular forum meetings (either in person or online).
- Be ready to commit to the activity of the forum for up to one year.
- Meaningful voluntary activity and the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of refugees in Estonia alongside the experts of Estonian Refugee Council.
- The possibility to make a change.
- Training programme covering participation in civil society, policy-making in Estonia, advocating for one’s rights, inclusion, etc.
- Opportunity to learn from and network with active refugees and other civil society actors from diverse backgrounds.
- We cover all the expenses related to the forum's activities, including transportation costs, etc.
