Description:
Work closely with ERC Armenia Team under Country Representative supervision to support implementation of communications strategy and to establish communications resources for the team, support media engagements and other visibility events, and build the overall communications capacity across the response. The Communications Officer provides support in accordance with the Programmes’ needs and requirements. This is a part-time vacancy with fixed-term contract for 32 months.
Main tasks:
- Lead the formulation and execution of Armenia country programs' communication and visibility strategy, aligning it with the donor's communication policies and procedures, with guidance from the Communication team at the Headquarters.
- Monitor and analyze the political landscape, staying abreast of field developments and the agenda of targeted entities, and respond effectively to relevant events.
- Identify and secure necessary resources (photographers, cameramen, translators, etc.) to support the agility of communication efforts.
- Create informative materials for dissemination across ERC channels, traditional and online media, encompassing interviews, testimonials, visual content, press releases, parliamentary engagements, reports, advocacy events, etc., tailored for both mission and field bases.
- Liaise with affiliated sites, ensuring accuracy in information related to ERC.
- Supervise the production of visual and audio-visual content depicting ERC’s activities in Armenia.
- Conduct field trips to gather testimonials, photos, and videos for social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram), donor requirements, and websites.
- Contribute to the strategic planning of the Facebook page and develop engaging content.
- Foster collaboration among teams and departments to meet communication and visibility benchmarks as per donor expectations.
- Manage media inquiries proficiently and craft compelling news releases to cultivate positive press coverage.
- Ensure consistency in terms of voice, branding, messaging and frequency of posting via digital channels
- Perform other additional duties related to communication activities.
Expectations towards the candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, International Relations, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven professional experience in a similar role, preferably within EU (other donor) funded programs or related environments.
- Good understanding of content creation best practices for different platforms (traditional media, social media, webpage).
- Demonstrated experience in an international setting is considered advantageous.
- Proficiency in written and oral English and fluency in Armenian is mandatory.
- Strong ability to ideate and generate innovative content for communication and promotional materials.
- Proactive and adaptable with outstanding interpersonal skills essential for effective collaboration in a diverse, multicultural team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, along with competence in photo and video editing software.
- Hands-on experience working with photo-video equipment.
