Description:
The ERC is looking for an Accountant to join our finance team in Yerevan, Armenia. In this role, you'll handle a variety of accounting tasks and play a key part in ensuring that ERC and its subsidiaries in Armenia stay compliant with local laws. Main tasks:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including bookkeeping, invoice processing, and asset inventory using the ArmSoft accounting software.
- Oversee banking tasks such as preparing payments, reconciling accounts, and managing payables/receivables.
- Contribute to the monthly closing of accounting books and ensure accurate financial records.
- Oversee payroll calculation and ensure timely and precise payments to employees.
- Review and ensure compliance of expense reports, tax filings, and financial transactions with company, donor, and local regulatory policies.
- Prepare and submit tax and donor reports to ensure adherence to all applicable regulations.
- Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports as needed by management and other teams.
- File and submit periodic reports to meet organizational and donor requirements.
- Participate in annual internal and external audits to ensure compliance with financial standards and regulations.
- Support procurement processes in line with the ERC procurement policy.
- Address staff inquiries about salaries, compensation, and accounting-related issues, and keep internal documentation and team members updated on changes to accounting policies or regulations under the guidance of the line manager.
- Handle additional accounting-related tasks and projects as needed.
Expectations towards the candidate:
- Accounting-bookkeeping knowledge and hands on experience according to the Armenian Tax law, Labour Law and IFRS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 3 years of work experience as an accountant.
- Proficiency in compiling various accounting reports and a strong understanding of accounting laws.
- Fluency in English and Armenian; knowledge of other regional languages (e.g., Ukrainian, Russian, Georgian, Arabic) is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in relevant software and tools.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
