As the Digital Solutions Lead at the Estonian Refugee Council, you'll take the reins on developing and integrating cutting-edge digital platforms across our organization. Picture yourself driving digital innovation in the humanitarian sector, fine-tuning systems for peak performance, and documenting all the wins along the way. You'll collaborate closely with different teams to tailor solutions that fit like a glove, all while keeping our data safe and secure.
But that's not all – you'll also lead a team of tech experts who make things happen behind the scenes. Together, you'll roll out new digital solutions and updates, ensuring everything runs smoothly. And when it comes to stakeholders, you'll be the go-to person, confidently explaining and standing by our digital strategies. And all of that for the sake of providing better and faster humanitarian assistance to people affected by crises.
Management tasks (35%):
- Oversee the management, maintenance, and optimization of all digital systems within ERC by evaluating systems, technologies, and data flows to identify areas for improvement.
- Conduct service process analysis utilizing an understanding of technical problems and solutions as they relate to current and future services, in support of strategic initiatives.
- Responsible for defining the roadmap and appropriate documentation required to support the solutions.
- Implement regular stress-testing and internal audits to ensure that digital platforms are reliable, scalable, and secure.
- Manage the organization’s databases (SQL-based).
Development tasks (35%):
- Develop and implement digital information management solutions, policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their digital needs and develop custom solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest technological trends and integrate them into the organization’s digital strategy.
- Design and improve digital processes to enhance efficiency and ensure alignment with best practices.
Leadership tasks (30%):
- Develop and communicate a strategic vision for the digital solutions team.
- Train and support staff and partners in adopting new digital processes and tools.
- Effectively communicate (e.g., via verbal and written communication, rapid prototypes, architecture diagrams, process workflows) solution concepts, use cases, data flows, implementation approach, and alternatives to drive alignment between stakeholders and programmatic teams.
- Lead and mentor the digital solutions team.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
- Set performance goals and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven track record of leading teams and delivering digital solutions.
- Strong understanding of digital technologies and trends.
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
- Strong process management and analytical skills.
- Excellent English language skills.
- Relevant certifications in SQL, PHP, and process management are a plus.
- Experience with Drupal-based systems is a plus.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Strong commitment to the mission and values of the Estonian Refugee Council.
