ERC was established 22 years ago in Estonia and currently provides humanitarian assistance to displaced people and other vulnerable people in 5 crisis-affected countries (Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Jordan and Turkey) and different support services to beneficiaries of international protection in Estonia. We are looking for Finance Officer to join our international team!
The ERC’s Finance Officer, based in Kyiv, Ukraine, is responsible for carrying out all accounting related tasks in Ukraine. The post-holder will ensure that the accounting of the ERC Ukraine office is in compliance with Ukrainian legislation and HQ rules and perform their tasks in a timely manner according to all due dates.
Cash flow management and monthly accountancy
- Prepare and archive all necessary documents for accountancy in accordance with both ERC procedures and Ukrainian standards and legislation
- Day to day accountancy with Ukraine office expenses through the ERC accountancy's software in accordance to the accountancy and budgetary framework and ERC written procedures
- Manage cash flow
- Manage advances and reimbursement of expenses
- To ensure the reliability of accountancy data\
- Supervise Accountant/Finance Assistant in preparing accountancy under Ukrainian standards
- Prepare (or delegate to Accountant/ Finance Assistant) all documents relative to taxation in Ukraine, with the right forms and deadlines
- Constantly work to improve their educational and professional level, be disciplined.
- Perform other tasks from supervisor relating to its work.
- Keep the workplace and equipment used in clean and working condition.
Financial Management
- Prepare the forecast of expenses for the Ukraine office and monitor the expenses vs. the budget and highlight deviations when necessary.
- On Request of the Head of support Services and in case of need, support the Fin-Coordinator in the preparation of financial reports and budgets (both internal and external).
Coordination
- Facilitate the exchange of information and ensure smooth communication process between the different administrative and logistics departments
Other running and ad-hoc accounting tasks.
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Financial management or related field.
- Minimum 3 years professional work experience with accounting and bookkeeping procedures and standards.
- Good knowledge of Ukrainian Labor, Accounting, and Tax Legislation.
- Previous experience in non-profit agency/grant-funded environment.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Ukrainian or Russian.
- Solid organizational skills: detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, set priorities, meet deadlines and plan own work.
- Solid computer skills, including high proficiency in MS Excel and finance related software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
