Fundraising & Communications Intern

Description: 

ERC is looking for interns to support ERC’s domestic fundraising and outreach activities, particularly school campaigns and corporate donor engagement. The main location for internship is Estonia, other country offices provide remote internship.

Interns' study field:

  1. Communication, Media, or Marketing
  2. Social Sciences, International Relations, Humanitarian Action or Development Studies
  3. Business, Economics, or Management

Locations:

  1. Tallinn, Estonia or remote (Estonian skills needed)
  2. Remote for Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine or Syria.

Length of internship is 2-6 months. Start time flexible.

Main tasks: 
  • Assist in preparing materials for fundraising campaigns.
  • Support management of donor databases and recordkeeping.
  • Contribute to communications content and event logistics.
  • Conduct basic research on donor trends and corporate giving in Estonia.
Expectations towards the candidate: 
  • Bachelor’s 2nd to 4th year or Master’s student.
  • Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and familiarity with spreadsheets/databases.
  • Interest or experience in fundraising and donor engagement.
  • Attention to detail, proactive attitude.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Good knowledge of the language in the application country.
  • Very good understanding of context in the application country.
What we offer: 

Expected learning outcomes

  1. Understanding of fundraising cycles and proposal development.

Interns will learn how to identify funding opportunities, support concept note and proposal writing, and contribute to needs assessments and project design across multiple thematic areas (cash assistance, livelihoods, protection and empowerment, and environment).

  1. Understanding of donor relations and compliance.

Interns will learn how donor requirements influence proposal design, budgeting, and reporting, and gain insight into communication and stewardship practices that sustain partnerships.

  1. Experience in cross-country project coordination.

Interns will gain practical exposure to collaboration between CO and HO teams, understanding how information and resources flow in multi-country project development and implementation.

  1. Knowledge of campaign design and implementation.

Interns will build an understanding of how fundraising and awareness campaigns are planned, developed, and executed — including audience targeting, message framing, and performance tracking — with a focus on mobilizing support for humanitarian and development initiatives.
