Main tasks:
- Draft and update the Country Security Plan for Ukraine; review and recommend changes in ERC’s global, regional and field security policies, plans and procedures.
- Coordinate and monitor security activities to ensure that safety and security policies and procedures are implemented.
- Ensure that all country staff are fully cognizant of prevailing security threats and fully advised on means to reduce staff vulnerability to those threats.
- Design and drill warning systems and emergency management protocols, emergency notification networks, and provisioning of emergency supplies for field personnel.
- Collect security related information from local and regional resources as it applies to ERC project sites and communicate with leadership as appropriate.
- Monitor the security preparedness of staff and work with staff members to ensure compliance with ERC security policies and SOPs.
- Audit communications equipment, security-management hardware and software applications, and facilitate communications-related assistance when necessary.
- Ensure induction security briefings are conducted to all arriving staff, partners and visitors.
Expectations towards the candidate:
- Considerable practical experience of managing security in complex contexts and high-risk environments.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of working in the safety and security domain. Former military or police, or extensive experience as an NGO security officer or with a private security company.
- Advanced oral and written English skills. Fluent in Ukrainian and Russian.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and analyse data and translate into effective information.
- Ability to work well in a team, operate under pressure, prioritize and deliver high quality work within deadlines, meeting team objectives.
