Description:
The Project Development Officer will be responsible for developing and crafting compelling project proposals and grant applications targeted towards both international and Estonian donors. Working in close collaboration with relevant programmes, the Project Development Officer will play a pivotal role in securing funding to our humanitarian initiatives, and will participate with the Head of Donor and Partner Relations on donor engagement activities, helping to foster meaningful relationships with existing and prospective donors.
Main tasks:
- Develope and write project proposals and grant applications to international and Estonian institutional and corporate donors in cooperation with relevant country offices or programmes.
- Support programme teams through matching them with suitable partners and donors for programme implementation.
- Conceptualize and develope intervention logic theory of changes on proposal ideas including standard and tailored indicators.
- Organize brainstorming workshops/sessions leading to project idea formulation and concept and/or proposal development.
- Maintain and build the database of current and prospective partners and donors, including contact information, grant guidelines and priority areas/themes for funding
- Maintain and update a database of monitoring matrix for all project proposals and grant applications submitted to donors.
- Prepare for and contribute to ERC’s certification/due diligence processes with different institutional donors.
- Facilitate donation gathering and lead on donation campaigns.
Expectations towards the candidate:
- Higher education in a relevant field (humanitarian assistance, development cooperation, political science, international relations, communication, economics, etc) or equivalent working experience.
- Extensive experience with grants applications processes for various donors.
- Experience working with corporate donors in Estonia and beyond.
- Experience with tenders for Estonian authorities is an advantage.
- Very good computer skills, including skills related to basic data analysis.
- Fluency in oral and written English. Knowledge of Estonian language is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills: must be able to work collaboratively, manage professional relationships, manage in multicultural settings, provide and receive feedback constructively, be solution-oriented, meet and communicate deadlines effectively.
- Ability to create and maintain a productive and safe working environment in line with ERC Code of Conduct.
